Q: "I'm at a slump. I've been studying for a while and my practice scores are not really improving. What should I do?
A: Follow this advice and your next practice test results should show improvement.
You have to determine which subject or organ systems you are performing worst at. An NBME will tell you this. If you haven't done one yet, YOU SHOULD! If you are not ready to buy an NBME then simulate one by working through 3 or 4 blocks of 46 questions from U World or Kaplan under strict testing conditions. This will help you determine your weakest areas.
To improve your score in the fastest amount of time, focus on your weakest subjects. If you have two or three subjects that are signifantly weaker then the others, focus on these. If you have too many weak areas with similar score distributions (within 5% of each other) choose top 3 highest yield areas.
This selection process willl break you out of your slump and your score will simply improve.
Thank you,
Ash
